Bitter Apricot Kernels Whole 500g Wild Crafted

Bitter Apricot Kernels Whole 500g Wild Crafted

What are Apricot Kernels?

Apricot kernels are removed from inside the seeds of apricot fruit and look similar to almonds. Apricot kernels are high in monounsaturated fat, contain a good source of fibre, protein, amygdalin (also called B17) and pangamic acid (also called B15). There are two types of apricot kernels, sweet or bitter. It is the amygdalin in the kernels that give this nice bitter taste. The bitter taste can be compared to almonds, but is much stronger. Eating apricot kernels is popular and very common in Turkey, Iran and other middle eastern countries.

Health Leads wild crafted bitter apricot kernels are fresh, full of flavour and with all of the valuable nutrients preserved. On arrival we treat our bitter apricot kernels with ozone to ensure they are free of moulds and pathogens which helps maintain the freshness of the kernels.
Why use Apricot Kernels?

It has been noted that tribes like the Hunza, Hopi Indians and the Karakorum have a high intake of vitamin B17 and, unlike people in the West, do not suffer from common Western diseases.

The best way to enjoy apricot kernels is to simply chew them as a nutritious tasty snack, but do not swallow them whole. Some foods are an acquired taste and this can be said for bitter apricot kernels, so when you first try them you might want to try them with orange juice. Why not add them to your cereal, or grind them up and add honey.

The UK Government now requires us to recommend a maximum dose of 1 to 2 whole kernels per day, equal to approximately 2 capsules.
